Much like her tūpuna, Ria is firm in her cultural and hāhī beliefs and has an innate desire to be of service to whānau.
Educated through the early years of the Kohanga Reo movement in the 80’s and being brought up with a strong Māori worldview, Ria has always had an inherent connection to all things Māori.
It’s no surprise that Ria found a professional path back to working as a Kohanga Reo Kaiako and Cultural Advisor for ECE (Early Childhood Education) staff over the past 10 years.
Ria is a strong advocate for rangatahi and whānau and is passionate about creating opportunities for our people to have meaningful and transformative experiences.
